Coatings

Spraying_Pumpstation__6_5-72-800-600-80Fuquay is a certified SprayRoq, Inc. distribution partner.  Sprayroq, Inc. manufactures spray-applied polyurethane products and solutions for Corrosion Management and Peace of Mind.  Our crews are certified installers of their revolutionary Spraywall product.  Spraywall is a long-term, totally trenchless solution for the preventative measure on new lift stations.  Strong, durable and corrosion resistant, Spraywall coating is quickly applied.

The unique Spraywall material is a proprietary formula.  Utilizing plural component spray technology Sprayroq developed a fast curing chemical resistant formula capable of excellent adhesion for the coating of new manholes.  This trenchless technology solution provides long life, corrosion control, and abrasion resistance.  A urethane-based material, it’s specifically designed for sanitary sewer applications.  As the name implies, it is spray-applied.  It starts to cure in about 9 seconds, and acquires full strength within a couple of minutes.  Unlike some other coating materials, Spraywall will resist corrosives such as H2S.  Installation goes quickly, usually completed in hours.

Rehabilitation

Utilizing plural component spray technology Sprayroq developed a fast curing structural and chemical resistant formula capable of excellent adhesion for the rehabilitation of underground infrastructure. This trenchless technologies solution provides long life, corrosion control, and abrasion resistance.  A urethane-based material, it’s specifically designed for sanitary sewer structure applications.  As the name implies, it is spray-applied. It starts to cure in about 9 seconds, and acquires full strength within a couple of minutes. Unlike some other restorative materials, Spraywall will resist corrosives such as H2S. Installation goes quickly, usually completed in hours.

When needed, Fuquay is a certified installer of numerous cementitious products.  These products are sometimes used when severely deteriorated concrete structures are in need of re-profiling prior to the installation of Spraywall.  The use of cementious materials is typically used when structures require one inch or greater of concrete replacement.

Inflow and Infiltration Control (I & I)

Infiltration is groundwater, or groundwater that is influenced by surface or subsurface water, that enters lift stations through holes, breaks, joint failures, connection failures and other openings. Infiltration quantities often exhibit seasonal variation in response to groundwater levels. Storm events can trigger a rise in groundwater levels and increase infiltration flows. The highest infiltration flows are observed following significant storm events or following prolonged periods of precipitation.  Inflow occurs as a result of storm events such as rainfall, snowfall, springs or snow melt that contribute to excessive sewer flows. Peak inflow can occur during heavy storm events when storm sewer systems are surcharged, resulting in hydraulic backups and local ponding. Fuquay’s rehabilitation division has the experience and knowledge in the use of specialty concrete and chemical grouts to stop I/I as part of the rehabilitation process.

A critical component of rehabilitation projects is the design and construction of efficient temporary by-pass pipeline systems to divert flow from wet wells being rehabilitated or replaced so that vital services to residences and businesses are not interrupted during construction.  For projects containing large-diameter pipes, the bypass system itself is a major project.  Pumps and pumping systems have a critical role in assuring sewage continues to flow while necessary upgrades are made to the existing infrastructure.  Fuquay and its partners have the ability to properly design and size the bypass pumping system.  Our experienced crews can also provide, install, and maintain the pumps and piping systems during their operation.
